SCMAP Visayas Chapter made an active participation in the recently concluded Apec Port Services Network (APSN) workshop on Improving Port and Supply Chain connectivity. 150 participants composed of local and foreign delegates (China, Indonesia, Shrilanka, Canada, Taiwan, and various other countries) converged together in 2 days workshop. GM’s and Commissioners of both Philippine Port Authority and Cebu Port Authority also present, with Customs commissioner Bert Lina and many other Government officials and private companies.
SCMAP Visayas chapter took center stage thru Dr. Rodien Paca’s impressive presentation of Intermodal connectivity. Dr. Rodien Paca as well espoused on the mission of SCMAP. Some companies approached us and applied for membership.
One Port Commissioner also asked our help in the crafting of the Implementing Rules and Regulation for the Foreign Ships Co-loading act. SCMAP also engaged speakers and panelists in an open discussion of “ How prepared is the Philippines for the ASEAN Port Connectivity? “
